The rebuilding of Paradise Valley Kennels is the completion of a life circle that represents one of those many spiritual mysteries.
When I was born in 1959 my father Dino Miraglia with the aid and support of my mother Heloisa owned many Pointers for hunting and showing under the famous suffix "Villa D'este." The exact name of the traditional Italian house of Pointers. At a very young age I followed him to the dog shows and assisted in the training and care of the puppies and youngsters. In 1966 I gained my first Best in Show presenting "Ava de Villa D'este" sister of "Asso", a top winning Pointer bred, owned and shown by my dad.
I gained my first Best in Show presenting Ava de Vila D'este sister of Asso De Vila D'este a top winning Pointer bred, owned and shown by my father.
In 1974 I aquired my collie Priscila do Tujupiara . An all breed and Specialty Best in Show winner as well as the foundation for World's Collie Kennel established in 1976. With the growth of my professional carear and after training in the United States with some of the world's leading professionals the name of the kennel was modified to Paradise Valley Kennel to include other breeds and the professional representation of dogs.
I developed my passion for Wire Fox Terriers while working for handlers who specialized in terriers. Ch. Sylair Special Edition handled by Clay Coady for Ric Chashoudian held a special magic for me. Ironicly these names would play an important role in the future destiny of my life.
After winning the Ranking National of Dogs and Professional Handlers in 1995 & 1996 (a competion between top ranking handlers and their top ranking dogs) I then traveled to the United States with the leading Rottweiler, Max, Dobermans Haxixe & Madona and the Pomerainian Madona. In 4 weekends I had won everything and completed all of their championships.
I realized I had reached the apex of my carear. I had won it all... I had reached the top... After much soul searching I decided it was time to move on. I sold my kennel, my dogs, materials and everything. I decided to resume my studies to become a lawyer. Something I had abandoned years before to pursue a carear in dogs. While finishing my studies I was told of the tragic death of my childhood friend, my mentor, my guru in the dog show scene and the person responsible for my trip to the United States. He was also a top breeder of Wire Fox terriers and a tough competitor.
This terrible loss also made me lament over my period of absence from the dog shows and the loss of contact with the people who had been my friends. Not long after, my father passed away. It was then that I decided to try and return to the people, places and things that had been such an important part of my memories and my life.
I began re-establishing the Paradise Valley name and reputation for breeding top quality winning dogs by presenting the group winning Wire Fox Terrier at the World Dog Show in Rio. In time I was elected president of the Kennel Club of Greater Belo Horizonte. I also became a judge for the CBKC, beginning with the Terrier Group while gradually working to include other breeds.
At the end of 2005 I invited Clay Coady to judge in Belo Horizonte. Re-establishing that connection was basic to the rebirth of Paradise Valley.
In years 90, several of my Fox Terrier had been created by Wood Wornall, proprietor of celebrity CRISWOOD KNLS. Making jus the essence of the mentioned circle already, in 2006 middle, I receive a phone call from my friend of infancy Renata Drummond, speaking that it had seen a pretty dog, with Wood Wornall, son of the winning dog of the Crufts, that had gained everything in the end of week in Sacrament, California. I received the photos and the video and was wild with the dog.
Meanwhile, Clay Coady looked a dog for me, breed by Ric Chashoudian, that was relative of Special Edition. It had determined that it would go to breeding focus in this unit that is the reproductive greater of the breed in all the times in the United States.
In August, I invited the Argentinean judge Patricia Alsina, breeder of Wire Fox Terrier of celebrity SPECIAL WIRE KNLS, to judge in Belo Horizonte and gained of it a dog granddaughter of Special Edition, for breeding program.
PARADISE VALLEY gave its first steps in this new life. In this same time, Clay Coady coincidently bound and informed that it had obtained a dog of the Ric, son to me of a Brazilian dog, with the mother of the dog that it had shown in Westminster. Philomena was the way.
In September I travelled during 4 days for
Delimiting definitively this new phase, I reformulated the logo of the kennel using his layout as reference of a mark and a time.
After the shock of the meeting with Johnnie, I prepared myself to receive Philomena, already imagining that it would not be in the same way, therefore not accurately had a primordial intention in pedigree and line of blood and in beauty.
To breed Wire Fox Terrier, using English lines, with the refinement of the great American dogs, and having as pillar of this breeding Special Edition, was the accomplishment of a dream.
Ric Chashoudian, of spectacular SANTERIC KNLS, is not the greater breeder of all the times, without an obvious reason. When I saw Philomena, for the door of the hotel, stopped as a champion, with only 7 months of age, understood that fame and tradition do not only become of the mouth for are. It is necessary knowledge, work and accomplishment and it was much more of what I waited.
Today, we are all in house, waiting the certain moment of introduce and presenting them it national community of dog people and I am certain that, usurping the words of Ric: “they make a dynamic duo”.
